July 4th Parties, Bears, Girls & Strollers
July 4th Week
The boys come to party this week with the major venues in town hosting all sorts of parties and events. On the 4th there is a colorful parade through town and spectacular fireworks over the bay at 9:00pm. Innkeepers Steve and Dave open their home on Commercial Street to guests for a fireworks BBQ with open bar.
Provincetown is invaded by Bears this week. These are not the furry, huge and ferocious animals but furry, large and wonderfully friendly gay men who come to Ptown for a great week of parties.
It’s time for the girl’s to have their special mid-summer event with all sorts of parties and entertainers in town for their enjoyment. While this is a smaller group than the Bears and they don’t take over the town as such, it is a really fun time for our Lesbian visitors.
This annual fund raising event held on the grounds of the Pilgrim Monument is the place to mix and mingle with local and national gay and lesbian celebrities.
With the advent of gay marriage there are more and more gay families with children who come to Ptown for a week of activities for the entire family. Not to worry if you don’t have children or are seeking “non-family” fun as all the other activities Ptown is famous for continue in town.
